The Gutenberg Law School hosts every year exchange students, teaching and non-teaching staff from all over the world in the frame of:
- Erasmus-programme for study and staff mobility (lecturships, job shadowing etc.)
- University and departmental cooperations worldwide
- FORTHEM-Network stay opportunities
The International Office of the Gutenberg Law School is the main contact at faculty level for students and staff interested in a stay at the faculty and is glad to provide prospective international guests with information concerning stay opportunities.
Furthermore the JGU International Office offers extensive advice and support for all international guests of the JGU depending on the stay purposes :
- The Gutenberg International School Services (GIS Services) is the main adress for all exchange students (ERASMUS & non degree-seeking) and helps them with all non- subject-related questions.
- The JGU Welcome Center is the central service and advice center for international academics and their families. The Welcome Center advices them in all non-academic and practical matters and helps them to plan, prepare and carry out their stay at JGU.
- The FORTHEM-Team informs about all possibilities in Mainz for students of the FORTHEM-Alliance universities to stay
Enjoy your semester and take part in the Mentoring Programme „Welc0m3 – Willkommen am Fachbereich 03“
In this programme the exchange students of the Faculty 03 have the opportunity to get a German student assigned. The project aims to provide guidance and support for international students through the commitment of experienced mentors and to allow them to take part in activities with German and other international students.
What international students can expect from the mentors:
- Peers for sharing experience
- Free time and (digital) group activities
- Linguistic and emotional support
- Help in overcoming problems at the beginning of your studies
International students can register for the programme before the beginning of the semester (September and March).

Le LL.M. c'est une alternative pour les diplômé(e)s en droit français et des pays francophones. Cette formation s’adresse aux étudiants qui disposent déjà d’une Licence en droit (Bac +3 minimum) et qui désireraient l’enrichir avec l’acquisition d’un LL.M, c’est à dire un veritable diplôme obtenu en 15 mois.

Das Magister Legum richtet sich an Jurist*innen, die außerhalb Deutschlands nach mindestens drei Jahren Studium einen akademischen Abschluss in Rechtswissenschaft erlangt haben.
Für das fünfzehnmonatige Studium sind Deutschkenntnisse auf dem Niveau DSH II erforderlich.
